Rare Porcelain Musical Figurine, Vintage Japanese Sankyo biscuit porcelain

The production of porcelain music boxes and figurines in Japan in the mid-20th century (especially in the 1960s and 1970s) was world-renowned for its quality and delicate design. This charming figurine was made by Sankyo and has a high collector's value.
The figurine depicts a little boy gardener sitting in nature. He holds a gray watering can in his hands, as if he had just finished watering the flowers.
The figurine is placed on a rounded conical surface, imitating a small meadow, which is decorated with delicate pink and yellow flowers.
It is made of fine biscuit porcelain (matte, unglazed porcelain), which is typical of quality Japanese figurines of this period. The colors are soft, pastel and applied by hand with extreme attention to detail, especially in the facial expressions.
The entire composition is mounted on a round, rounded ivory base. Inside it is hidden the classic mechanical musical mechanism, which is usually wound from the bottom. When played, in addition to playing a gentle melody, the base most often rotates slowly in a circle, creating a feeling of a living fairy tale.
