Set of 5 USSR Glass Holders, Aluminum, Enameled, Vintage Soviet Podstakannik

An exceptionally beautiful and colorful set of 5 vintage tea holders (traditional stands for tea cups with a handle). The objects have a fabulous aesthetic inspired by traditional Russian applied arts.

These are metal stands in which cylindrical glass cups without handles for hot tea are placed. They protect hands from burning and add solemnity to the tea ceremony.
The stands are made of aluminum and are covered with a bright, shiny golden layer.
The main accent is the masterful decoration, resembling traditional enamel - an extremely fresh and regal combination of colors was used - rich sky blue (turquoise), rich emerald green and a pure white background under the central figures.
On the front of each stand, in beautiful white medallions in the shape of arches, stylized mythical creatures - griffins in golden color are depicted.
The space between the medallions is filled with beautiful floral motifs – stylized trefoils and fine gold petals on a blue background, reminiscent of ancient royal tents or church domes.
